In Leviticus 23; "The LORD said to Moses, Say to the people of Israel, The appointed feasts of the LORD which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, my appointed feasts, are these.
Six days shall work be done; but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work; it is a Sabbath to the LORD in all your dwellings."
These are the appointed feasts of the LORD, the holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at the time appointed for them." He then list the seven holy days which are:
The Passover
The Days of Unleavened Bread
The Day of Pentecost
The Feast of Trumpets
The Day of Atonement
The Feast of Tabernacles
The Last Great Day
The Feast of Tabernacles is a seven day festival that represents the 1000 years of the Kingdom of God on earth. Members of the Church of God spend these seven days in temporary dwellings, symbolizing that we are but pilgrims in this world on our way to the Kingdom of God. It is a joyful occasion for families to spend seven days unified with brethren from around the world. Attached to the Feast of Tabernacles is an eight' day, a Holy Day, symbolizing a judgment day at the end of the 1000 year long Kingdom of God.
God gave mankind these seven annual Sabbaths as a road map so that we may know and understand the solution to the sin problem. These holy days define God's complete plan of salvation, and keeping them year after year is the only way to arrive at our destination -- the Kingdom of God.
